Small batches every Tuesday and Friday. Beans sourced from estates in Chikmagalur and Yercaud.
Breakfast from 7am, sandwiches and bakes through the day, and a short evening menu.
Fast Wi-Fi, plug points at every table and a quiet mezzanine floor for calls.
Walk-ins welcome. Table reservations by phone or WhatsApp.
Forty covers across two floors, terracotta floors, and a long communal table by the window that has hosted more first drafts than we can count.
Our storyAroma began as a six-table room behind a bookshop. The bookshop closed. We stayed.
Meera and Ravi Subramaniam opened Aroma in 2011 with a second-hand roaster and a conviction that Coimbatore deserved better coffee than instant powder in hot milk.
Today we roast around 90kg a week — for the cafe, for a handful of restaurants around town, and for the people who walk in every Saturday with an empty jar.
We still buy from the same two estates we started with.
Opened with six tables and one roaster.
Moved to Race Course Road; added the kitchen.
Started supplying beans to eleven local restaurants.
The room, the roaster, and a few regulars who did not object.
We reply to messages within a few hours during opening time.
